Christine & Jared - A Boho Beachfront Wedding

When they began planning the couple knew they wanted a beachfront wedding, with natural and earthy elements incorporated throughout. Both Florida natives, the couple met in Gainesville while attending the University of Florida. Their love of spending time together at the beach or on their boat, and ultimately getting engaged on a balcony overlooking the ocean at The Grand Plaza Hotel, inspired their choice for a beach location. To create a relaxed, boho environment at the Tradewinds Resort, blue and green sea glass colors were accented with neutral hues found in driftwood and white shells. The most special and unique pieces were the cake toppers which once belonged to the groom’s great great great uncle.

The cake toppers that sat atop this adorable polka dotted cake have a very unique story: Years ago a cargo ship laden with cupie dolls sank off of the Florida Keys. For years beach goers found arms, legs, and heads of the dolls. But when a pair were found in perfect condition they were gifted to the groom’s great great great uncle, who was a lighthouse keeper in Key West, and his wife. The dolls made their first appearance on a family wedding cake in 1921, and since have adorned the tops of wedding cakes throughout the groom’s entire extended family, ultimately ending up on his own.

Liz and Jeff - A Travel Inspired Wedding

Liz and Jeff - A Travel Inspired Wedding

Love travel? Why not incorporate that passion into your special day? That’s exactly what Liz and Jeff did, with a travel-themed wedding that showcases their favorite adventures, destinations and places in the world. To add a little pop of color, the groomsmen sported pale blue pants and peach ties and added some extra flare with personalized monogram suspenders. Guests were charmed by the vintage suitcases filled with custom passport programs and unique luggage tags and flip flops favors! The new Mr. and Mrs. entered the reception through a burst of confetti. Dinner was served at round tables covered with vanilla linens and topped with repurposed mason jars filled with flora in shades of pale pink, ivory and peach.  Clusters of votive candles and roses in silver candlesticks encircled stacks of books and mini globes. Family and friends enjoyed specialty drinks perfectly paired with food stations from around the world, offering Asian, French, Italian, and Cuban cuisine, and when guests visited the food stations, they received a stamp on their passport menu!  There were even exotic flavored cupcakes for dessert!  The music kept everyone on the dance floor all night long, and when it came time to say their goodbyes, no one wants to leave - the party was that amazing!
