Susanna and JJ's wedding day was as colorful as their personalities! Susanna wanted their day to reflect her Asian heritage, while JJ wanted to incorporate great food and music (both are foodies, and the groom is in a break-dancing troop!) Both red and gold are auspicious colors in the Chinese culture, and they paired beautifully with shades of fuchsia and berry, saturating details from the bridesmaids' attire to the abundant flora! The couple exchanged vows in the Tea Garden at the Renaissance Vinoy hotel in St. Petersburg Florida (the groom's hometown), in front of their closest friends and family. In preparation for the Florida sunshine, we offered guests a Shade Station of straw fedora hats for gentlemen, paper parasols for ladies, and program fans, topped off with a Gelato Cart for a cool ceremony treat! Bridesmaids wore corsages and carried patterned parasols instead of bouquets. The bride's bouquet featured colorful exotic orchids. After a group photo with all of their guests, everyone headed to a poolside cocktail hour where they sipped on signature cocktails named after the bride and groom's Chinese birth years! The ballroom reception was a sight to behold, lit with pink uplighting and filled with dining tables adorned with various lush centerpieces. The florist created towering arrangements on pilsner vases, collections of submerged orchids and floating candles, as well as clusters of pedestal candles and vases of flora. The bride and groom were escorted into the reception by a Dragon Dancer and live drum and dance performance - their guests were absolutely mesmerized! Food stations offered local dishes like Grouper Sliders and Smoked Fish Dip, plus favorites like a Mac n Cheese station and Carving Station. When it was time to party, the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor with hit after hit, and even inspired a few dance-offs between the members of the groom's break-dancing troop! As night fell, everyone gathered outside around the pool to watch an amazing fireworks display, before finishing the night with a Donut Station and 5-tier confection decorated with a cascade of fresh orchids. The bride and groom then headed to their honeymoon in Walt Disney World before heading home to their residence in Melbourne, Australia!
