Lizzie and Drew - A Classic & Chic Downtown Wedding

Lizzie and Drew, two lawyers, Harry Potter lovers, and die-hard FSU fans, wanted a classic and chic wedding filled with timeless details mixed with a super fun party.  Their traditional Catholic ceremony in the stunning gothic-style Sacred Heart Catholic Church was breathtaking.  Only steps away, guests enjoyed a cocktail style reception at The Vault, a historic bank-turned-venue complete with an actual vault room (which made for a perfect dessert room where guests retreated for sweets!)  The evening ceremony set just after Christmas meant the cathedral with adorned with gorgeous wreaths, poinsettias, and dozens of trees with twinkling lights - such a gorgeous backdrop!  At the reception, the first and second floors were filled with a mixture of cocktail and seated tables to encourage guests to mix and mingle.  Everywhere you looked there were collections of gold candles (gleaned and painted by the groom's mom).  The heavy hors d'oeuvres included passed appetizers as well as food stations (hello Mac n Cheese bar!) along with assorted cupcakes and an impressive Harry Potter themed candy display.  In true fan fashion, the bride and groom were introduced into the room complete with Seminole spear and headdress while guests joined in the chant!  The DJ pumped lively music throughout the night, keeping everyone on the dance floor until the clock struck 12 and it was time to head home, but not before sending off the couple with garnet and gold pom poms to their classic car.

The wedding party posed for photos on the steps of the historic Vault building

The stationery, created by the groom's sister, featured a black and white calligraphy design

The bride looked stunning in her ballgown with rhinestone illusion neckline and chic chignon

Bridesmaids wore classic black gowns and carried petite bouquets of blush and ivory roses

The groom looked so sharp in his classic black tuxedo and bowtie

The bride's father lifted her veil and kissed her check before giving her away at the ceremony

Passed hors d'oeuvres of empenadas and plantains in cigar boxes (a nod to the city of Tampa)

In honor of the bride and groom's careers, guests signed a law text book as a guestbook

The FSU-loving bride and groom sported Seminole headdress and spear for their introduction

Clusters of assorted gold candles created ambient lighting throughout the reception

With such an abundance of sweets on display, the couple ceremoniously cut a simple petite cake

A view of the reception from the second floor of The Vault; what a party!

The Harry Potter themed candy buffet offered treats like Berts Beans and Chocolate Frogs

Assorted cupcakes displayed in the dessert room were paired with champagne glasses of milk

The bride and groom posed for a photo in front of the historic Tampa Theater downtown

Guests cheered on the bride and groom (and the 'Noles) with a pom pom send off at the end of the night
