When Heather and OC met, it was truly love at first sight! So they knew they wanted a magical wedding that reflected their real life fairy tale. The bride is an independent fashion sales representative so the wedding had to be elegant and stylish with plenty of glitz! With a black and gold color palette and a formal reception it was easy to create their magical vision full of both glamorous and vintage details. Thanks to their love of travel and OC’s Nigerian heritage, they also incorporated many global elements, cultural traditions, and custom attire that made for one of the most amazing bridal attire transitions we’ve ever seen!
The bride and groom experience an intimate first look in Plant Park.
The bride’s dog made a special appearance in a matching pink dress to get ready with the rest of the girls!
For the ceremony the bride wore a dramatic low backed lace dress and veil.
The dress, veil, and bouquet had crystal embellishments to compliment the other glamorous elements of the wedding.
The groom looked absolutely dashing in his white jacket, surrounded by his wedding party dressed in classic black.
Classic. Suave. Sophisticated. Timeless. Whatever you call it, this look is just plain handsome!

To add some character to the elegance of the wedding the bridesmaids wore unique dresses in soft blush and metallic shades.
Bridesmaids carried airy bouquets of baby’s breath.
The couple exchanged vows in front of friends and family.
These two weren’t going to let a little shower dampen their spirits and they say rain on your wedding day is good luck!
For a fun cocktail hour treat, champagne floats with fruity popsicles were offered.
A local popsicle cart offers treats for guests during cocktail hour.
To honor the groom and his family the bride donned a traditional Nigerian head-dress for the reception.
Even though it rained during the ceremony that gave way for a beautiful rainbow over the water during cocktail hour!
The couple love to travel together so a vintage globe served as their guestbook.
Other travel elements included menus made to look like personal passports.
The food offered during dinner reflected dishes from around the world.
Black and white linens were dressed up with gold elements and soft pink florals.
The groom’s family rocked traditional Nigerian clothing in purple and gold.
A small cake was offered along with speciality cupcakes for dessert.
Although they offered a variety of cupcakes the couple still cut a small cake for tradition.
The couple opted for a unique ‘candle ceremony’ during their first dance.
String lights overhead and candles held my guests illuminated the dance floor for the couple’s first dance.
For dancing, the couple changed into traditional Nigerian garb.
