Let me guess, you're pinning everything in sight, right? Here's a little guide for how to create a cohesive wedding inspiration board... 1 - Start by thinking about your overall style, vision, theme, colors, etc. 2 - Using descriptive words, give your event a working title, such as "Old Florida Wedding with Watercolors and Rustic accents" or "Victorian Vintage Wedding with Charming details and Natural elements". 3 - Think about common feelings in the decor and details you like, such as classic, romantic, modern, vintage, rustic, soft, graphic, bright, elegant, tropical, and more. 4 - When selecting colors, being specific. Instead of grey, yellow, and pink (which could range in shades) think charcoal, butter, and rose. Is your green more like celery or sage? Is your red more like strawberry or merlot? 5 - When selecting images, don't just choose everything in your colors. Look for the overall style, concept, and design. It shouldn't all match, but it should coordinate. It shouldn't be too literal of a translation either (i.e. you love black and white damask, but you don't want damask linens, damask candles, damask cake, damask stationery...) 6 - Edit! Choose several images and once you see them all together, be selective and choose the ones you think coordinate the best, while omitting ones that don't seem to gel with the rest. Here are some examples of Wedding Inspiration Boards that clearly communicate a specific style: Victorian Vintage Wedding with Charming details and Natural Elements.
